Coliseum returns to a football field in time for Saturday’s Trojan Huddle

Three weeks after a baseball game, the Coliseum looks like its usual old self once again.
Just in the nick of time.
Workers recently finished laying sod and have been pampering the grass all day Friday in preparation for Saturday’s Trojan Huddle at 11 a.m.
The football field lines have been painted on and the baseball diamond has been covered with pristine sod, making the turf unblemished and whole for the first time in months.
Though football cleats might tear up the new grass — which hasn’t had time to properly set — the field, for the moment, appears suitable for Saturday’s end-of-spring scrimmage.
Take a tour of the Coliseum with less than 24 hours to go before the Trojan Huddle:

Though the baseball diamond is still apparent through the new sod, the field is in much better playing condition than if it were still partly infield dirt.
