Fall Camp ushers in the 2008 season for Trojan football

The players have returned. The coaches have returned. The excitement has returned.
But, most of all, football season has returned.
USC’s Fall Camp has arrived with 23 practices over 18 days as the Trojans prepare for the 2008 season, which kicks off at Virginia on Aug. 30. Days will be long (up to 14 hours of meetings and practices per day) and practices will be taxing, but it’ll all add up to a primed group of players and coaches, geared up for the season ahead.

All practices during Fall Camp (Aug. 6-23) are open to the public, so check out the practice schedule for the times and locations.
Fall Camp 2008 by the numbers:
18 consecutive days of practice
33 on-the-field sessions (23 practices and 10 walk-thus)
5 two-a-days
3 scrimmages at the Coliseum to acclimatize to the first game’s conditions (a 3:30 p.m. contest against Virginia)
1 off day between now and the season opener on Aug. 30
7,150 estimated number of meals served to the players and coaches at Galen Center cafeteria during camp (and about an additional 2,200 meals served to football support staff during camp)
